Handwriting and Presentation

Handwriting and Presentation

This year handwriting and presentation is a big focus in school. This is especially important in Year 6 as all children are expected to be able to join their handwriting by the time they leave Year 6. To do this we are following the Nelson handwriting scheme to help to show the children how they will be expected to join. We have already started to focus on this within lessons and will continue to do so as the year goes on. So far, the children have been working really hard to focus on their handwriting and we are pleased with their efforts. To ensure that the children continue this way, we would like children to complete handwriting tasks at home as well as set homework tasks. Children will only be given pens when they have shown that they can consistently write using the correct joins, ensuring that letters are of a consistent size. We appreciate your support at home and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to speak to us.

The children have worked really hard on this during the first half term. Please encourage children to work on their handwriting at home, ensuring it is of a consistent size and is always legible, joined and fluent.

Thank you for your continued support.
