Alice in Wonderland - Mad Hatter's Tea Party

ALICE IN WONDERLAND  FAMILY READING PROJECT MAD HATTER TEA PARTY CELEBRATION EVENT MONDAY 10TH JULY 2017

We had twenty six families involved in our Alice In Wonderland family reading project.

A big thank you from Mrs Adams our Learning Mentor to the fifteen families who  successfully completed all of the activities that were set and were invited as a reward for doing this to join our Mad Hatter Tea Party and Wonderland Garden to celebrate the end of the project.

The pupils had spent the afternoon preparing food and we managed not to have our jam tarts stolen.   The families had the opportunity to play a game of croquet and no one lost their heads today.  We even had a couple of our pupils dress up as Alice.

The following pupils received certificates and prizes in a recent assembly for completing all of these activities and taking part in a additional workshops where they have made jam tarts, pocket watches and invitations.

A big well done to Year 3 pupils Sydney, Rebecca and Erin. Year 4 pupils Amelie, Athsari, Musfila, Ethan, Grace, Reegan, and Owen. Year 5 pupils Abby, Chloe, Lucy and Lucy.

These families were joined by children who had taken part in our fantastic food gardening project providing food that we have used in some of our cookery sessions this year.

The children involved in the garden project used the  Wonderland garden designs from the pupils involved in the family reading project to create  our own Highfields Wonderland Garden complete with flamingos. Though no one could find the Cheshire Cat who seemed to have disappeared just before the celebration got started.
