Autumn Term - Survival of the Fittest

Our exciting topic begins with a day visit to Edgmond Hall, where pupils enjoyed shelter building, fire lighting and a range of team-building challenges. Take a look at our gallery to see them in action!

In English, pupils will use The Hunger Games as inspiration for a variety of writing tasks, including speeches, narratives, setting descriptions, survival guides and discussion texts.

In Science, children will explore classification and adaptation, learning about the work of Carl Linnaeus and Charles Darwin and how living things are suited to their environments.

History lessons focus on the Vikings, investigating their way of life and comparing this period with the Anglo-Saxons and other historical eras studied previously.

In Art, pupils will study the work of Vincent van Gogh before creating their own landscape paintings inspired by his distinctive style.
