The American Dream

Our final topic of Year 6, The American Dream, takes pupils on an exciting journey across the United States of America.

In English, we explore the award-winning novel Holes, developing our reading, writing and comprehension skills through this captivating story.

In Geography, we locate the countries of North America before focusing on the states of the USA. Children then choose a state to research in depth and create an informative project to showcase their findings.

In Art, pupils take inspiration from the famous pop artist Andy Warhol, using printing techniques to create their own bold and colourful artwork. Alongside our topic work, this term is an important milestone as pupils complete their SATs and begin preparing for a successful transition to secondary school.

To celebrate the end of their primary journey, children also learn, rehearse and perform an exciting Year 6 production, creating lasting memories as they prepare for their next adventure.
