Rights Respecting School
Rights Respecting School
We are a Rights Respecting school which means that we support and value the United Nations Rights of The Child. These rights are set out as 45 articles which can be found in the attachment below. At the start of each year, every class creates their own class charter. They choose some of the articles which they feel are particularly important to them and create a display. Pupils think about why the articles are important and how they can respect everyone's rights.
Highfields also has a Children's Rights Committee made up of children from each Key Stage Two class. They meet regularly with Mrs Seville and Mr Savvides to discuss children's rights. More information about this group can be found in the Little Leaders section of the website.
Global Goals
As part of being a Rights Respecting school, we learn about the importance of being global citizens and looking after the wider world. There are 17 global goals.
